Galluzzo secures non-jail sentence for client convicted of federal narcotics trafficking.
Matthew Galluzzo recently demonstrated his skillful sentencing advocacy by persuading a federal judge in Brooklyn to sentence his client to a below-guidelines sentence of time served (in this case, one day in custody). The client had been convicted of a federal narcotics offense for his role in delivering multiple kilos of cocaine on several occasions. Though the federal Sentencing Guidelines called for a sentence of 24-30 months in prison, Mr. Galluzzo wrote a sentencing memorandum that the federal judge described as “excellent” and the reason for why he had decided to sentence the client to no time in jail. The client will remain on supervised release for a period of three years (or less), but will not spend any time in prison, despite the seriousness of the criminal conduct. In his sentencing memorandum, Mr. Galluzzo emphasized the client’s overall character, his work ethic and employment history, and his sincere remorse for his actions. The case was U.S. v. ZL, 23-cr-311(FB)(EDNY).
Matthew Galluzzo has significant experience representing individuals accused of narcotics offenses in federal court.
