Galluzzo & Arnone LLP Secures Release of Angel Alvarez; All Charges Dropped

Angel Alvarez holds his son, Angel, Jr., as he leaves Manhattan Supreme Court with supporters this afternoon after a grand jury declined to indict him on charges of gun possession. Alvarez was shot 23 times by police officers who responded to an August 8, 2010 shooting incident in which Luis Soto was killed. Cops testified that they saw Alvarez holding a gun, but he claimed he had grabbed it from Soto in self-defense. Original Filename: hermann03021115.JPG

As reported in the New York Times and other media outlets, after a long and difficult process, The Law Office of Matthew Galluzzo client Angel Alvarez is finally free.

The New York County District Attorney presented charges to a grand jury, and after due consideration of all of the evidence, did not file a single charge against Alvarez. We are overjoyed with the result and wish Mr. Alvarez and his family the best.
